From the depths of her Kingdom she watches

Mountains in shadow
Looming in the horizon
Majestic and awe-full
Powerful and foreboding
Thousand year old forests
of a thousand trees
Where each begins with one naked seed
Though time flashes pass
Her trees stand steadfast.
For a time, she is content
She is beauty
She is abundance
She is provision.
From the depths of her Kingdom she watches

And then she saw turmoil
And then she saw greed.
Through her pillars of reflection
She watched as
Trees are stripped
Mountains are crumbled
Lands are parched.
Pillars of reflection
One is a reflection of the other
Yin Yang, Yang Yin
A balance shall emerge.
She is beauty
And she is wrath.

Nature can nurture, but nature can also annihilate. We must work in synchrony with our land so that it provides and not destroy. This mixed media assemblage piece is inspired by both the beauty and wrath of Gaea, Mother of Earth, symbol of nature.
