Frida, the Artist

Lately I find myself being pulled towards images of women. As such, I have decided to dedicate some mini book necklaces to woman in their different manifestations.
My fourth book necklace inspired by Women who made a Difference, this is The Artist.

This mixed media book necklace is an assemblage of a pair of ornate filigree, a brass butterfly, an image of a vintage lady,
other brass findings, patina, paint and resin. Elements in the chain include antique brass-toned findings and chain, glass beads, veined Howlite and Jasper beads. The beautiful green focal bead is a large natural turquoise bead.

* the necklace is 29 inches in circumference, plus 2 inch at focal bead – no clasp

* the book measures approx. 1.5 (W) x 2 (H) x 0.75 (T) inches and has 154 writable pages. Pages are coffee stained. I have my name signed randomly on one of the pages.
