“Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart …”
Many people asked me why I had only 2 eggs in the nest, and not the normal 3 that you always see. The answer is simple … because they are my 2 little girls, Llara and Maia.
This piece is a homage to my 2 wonderful girls, and my hope that they will grow up to follow their dreams and live life with passion, compassion and freedom … Not to be shackled down by anything, but to live life to the full. Born Free, Live Free.
This mixed media bracelet is an assemblage of copper and brass metals, all augmented by fire. The house is made employing “origami” techniques on repurposed copper, as such it is not soldered in any parts. The ‘eggs’ in the nest are rustic Howlite beads. Other components include an antiqued silver toned wing, paper, resin, various fiber, gauze, Petrified Wood beads and Picasso Jasper beads.
* The whole length of the bracelet is 9 inches including clasp, and would fit nicely from a 6.5 inch wrist upwards.
